Our very best friend, daughter, sister and all around loved one,
is blushing and happy, a bride to be doted upon.
With a giant cake, lots of coffee and a round of pastel mints,
we’ve plenty to eat and presents delivered with out stint.
A bridal shower ever so staid and a bit over planned,
until the margaritas come out and we giggle because their grand.
The first package is opened, careful the paper won’t tear.
Every tear is a child and who wants dozens to rear.
A hole in a paper plate and the first bow pushed through,
no grander bouquet for a wedding practice soon to ensue.
Then the bride’s first lingerie, sexy and missing great coverage
comes out of the box and laughed about by the entourage.
The box full of sex toys, love making enhancers,
cause mothers to redden and girl friends to exchange glances.
But not every bridal shower gift is intent on the nuptial bed,
there’s kitchen goodies and utensils and nothing is said
about naughty behavior of bridegrooms and brides
except for some hints, or suggestions for turning the tides
of single married life into a big family with babies,
and the bride says no, but her gaze is far off and glazed.
What a wonderful day, this bridal shower can be,
if we share all our knowledge and let naughtiness free.
