“The earth is like a beautiful bride who needs no man-made jewels to heighten her loveliness…”- Khalil Gibran
A bride must have the best hair-do at the wedding ceremony. Not only it’s the most important day of her life and she wants to make it memorable; she’s also the center of attraction. The bridal hair styles should be elegant and coordinate with the dress, the veil, the personality and not to forget the trends.
Here are some hairstyles to be considered for a summer wedding.
Simple bun with a side part:
Classic and feminine; a bun on a hot, summer day keeps you cooler and elongates your neck. Eva Scrivo, Stylist, says in New York Mag, “it creates a nice line on a woman, especially with an open-back or strapless dress. Put flowers on one side of the bun so you have a more finished look when you take your veil off for the party.”
Gretchen Maurer has served brides and stylists since 1998 with her wedding hairstyle kits. She says, “Many brides have complained that they loved their hairstyle at the trial run, but then on the wedding day it did not come out as well. Some times the stylist may forget or you are given a different stylist!!” For this, she answers, “By having a PDF hair kit you are assured that your hair will come out the same beautiful way, time after time!” Her PDF kits come free with instructions and pictures. Check out her website for details.
One of the styles I liked from her gallery was 1102/sh2 for short hair
Begin by blow-drying your hair. Use moose/gel for fine or medium hair. Do not lift the bang area. Set the hair with Velcro rollers. The rollers go in the opposite directions which gives the hair a fuller look. Do not set too much on the sides. It’s meant to stay tucked. The flatter bang will now blend with the tucked sides.
Remove the rollers and finger comb.

Uplift Bridal Hairdo:
Even though, it’s a cute hairstyle, it adds oomph to your persona. Part hair down the middle and curl up the ends and you’re done. Accessorize with pins or clips would look best with this wedding hair style. Forego a veil or tiara.
Twist Bridal Hairdo:
Check this style from One Wed, “Unique wedding hair style that features twisting hair that is pinned for an elegant updo.” Perfect for semi-formal or casual beach weddings; this style is elegant and comfortable. Looks perfect without a veil, or “choose a veil that just drapes over the hair for the best look.”
Twist or curl, let it loose and long, colored or not; it’s all a reflection of your style. Talk to your hair stylist, have a trial run and on your wedding day have a good attitude. Be flexible and don’t forget to breathe.
The key is to enjoy and go with the flow!
