Your Wedding Gown so Beautiful What Do You Do with it After You Get Married

Buying and picking out that special wedding gown is one of the most exciting times for any women getting married. When I was very young I knew exactly how I wanted my gown from the beading work all the way to the train, but what do you do after wearing that special gown for only one day? Are you gonna get it preserved and placed in a box, so someone else can wear it? Or what if no one wants to wear it or maybe they won’t fit into it then what? I know this topic probably has been written many times before I’m really not sure if it has or not. After talking to my hair customer yesterday I just couldn’t resist writing this. Her daughter just got married about a year ago and she was deciding on what to do with her wedding gown. So my customer gave me some really creative tips to make that special wedding gown of yours be with you forever. Here is those special tips she gave me that I just thought were outstanding ideas.

1. You may not like the idea of taking a scissor to your wedding gown, but if you have the chance and the guts you can really turn this special dress into a beautiful heirloom that can be passed on to other family members. My customer told me you can just cut out squares out of your gown very carefully and turn it into a bed quilt or blanket depending on which one you want. This way you can always cherish it plus get your moneys worth out of it. Then it won’t be just sitting in a box looking pretty.

2. Next idea that was very creative was to make a bassinet skirt or a Christmas tree skirt. I thought what a beautiful way to welcome that precious new baby of yours into the family with using your gown. Your wedding day was one of your most precious moments in your life so why not have your baby share that moment with you. This is such a priceless idea. I wish I would of know this sooner so that I could of done this for my 3lilangels. Now the Christmas skirt I thought was great too, especially the fact that we all have our own special traditions that we do each year. So by cutting your wedding gown into a tree skirt may hurt you, but every year that gown will be placed under that beautiful tree of yours where all your family can enjoy. This way you don’t have to go out and buy a skirt for your tree.

3. The last ideas she gave me were to make a pillow or something for your daughter/son to have when they get married. For your daughter and son you can make them a handkerchief out of your wedding gown place some sequins, lace, and your wedding date on it. Then place your daughter or sons wedding date on there too. You don’t have to put lace or beads on the guy one it can be plain. This would be great for your daughters something old gift, but to her it would be new from the heart. With the pillow idea you can make one to match the decor of your bedroom. Make it as big as you want stuff it very good. Use whatever colored materials you have to match your bedroom. Then place your wedding date information on top. This one I really like and might do this in the future.

4. While writing this I thought of one idea myself. I know for my baby shower I received a homemade blanket, hat, and christening outfit. Why not make this using your wedding gown. I think this would be very original, creative, and very special for the baby to wear and pass on. Then of course they can preserve it after their christening in a special box.
