Weddings are a happy, exciting time, however with the price of everything for a wedding rising it is a great idea to create your own centerpieces.Reasons why it is a good idea to make your own centerpieces.

If you love all these reasons why to make your own centerpieces for your wedding, here are a few ideas with step by step instructions on how to make them.
The first centerpiece is more for the beach themed wedding, however this one is so simple to change to any theme or season.
Go to your local discount store (Big Lots, TJMax, Ross) Look in there housewares section for glass pillars, glass bowels, any glass dish, that will hold a nice candle.
While at the discount store also look for candles, they don’t need to smell good, or even be the best looking candle, nor do they all need to match.
For the beach theme, go to your local beach (this would be a great way to get the man in your life involved in some of the preparation for the wedding) Bring a cheap bucket with you, fill with sand, shells, and seaweed, maybe even some driftwood that would fit in your centerpieces or around your centerpieces.
Once you have found all the shells, seaweed, and sand you need. Fill your centerpieces with sand a little less than halfway full. Put your candle in the middle not deep in the sand.
Now gather a few of your shells and seaweed pieces to place around the candle.
Thats it your done, you know have a centerpiece for your beach themed wedding.
To make this centerpiece for another outdoor wedding, go to your local craft store (CraftsNStuff is great) get some of the fake grass either the kind that is a mat, or the grass that is dried and in the bag. If you want to go a little bit cheaper, purchase a couple of the plastic grass door mats and cut them to fit in the glass pieces. Before you put the grass mats in you can fill with a nice dark dirt. then put the grass, candle on top, and thats all.
To save a little more money you can save all your glass jars (i.e. sauce jars, jelly, jam jars, even the little mustard jars would work

One: Get tissue paper, or wrapping paper and decoupage the jars or
Two: get ribbon and wrap around the top of the jar in the colors of your wedding.
Then just place a simple candle in the and you have a simple, beautiful centerpiece.
If you would like to not spend any money on your centerpieces use plants, friends, family , and local parks and beaches
Choose plants in your theme colors, or plants that are indigenous to your destination.
Some nice choices are Grape leaf vine, they are always near the beach, Hibiscus flowers, honeysuckle, wild daisies, pine cones, etc.
A neat little trick with daisies if you can only find white wild Daisey take them home, put them in water, depending on what colors you are having you can put some food coloring in the water, it will dye the flowers to that color.
